Day 72

Emerson Hope Jerome, December 12th, 2011. 9'4'', 21 inches long.
Emerson Hope Jerome is here!! We waited so long for her, but she was worth the wait! Lorie labored all night an all day. We received a text from Micah at about 1 telling us to get there ASAP. Well, that might have been a bit premature. We sat in the waiting room til 4:30 when we finally decided to get some dinner. Micah texted us there and we we went up to tell Lorie "best of luck." She just told us all to stay, so we were able to be there for the delivery. Poor Lorie. It was an extremely difficult and unpleasant labor and delivery. I felt terrible for her, no sleep, bad epidural, starving to death, pushing out a bowling ball! It was so amazing to be there for her birth. I love my precious new niece!!
Meeting their sweet child for the very first time. It doesn't feel like it was long ago that we were doing the same.
I'm a proud auntie!! Sweet baby--does she look familiar?? She could be Alex's twin!
Alex looked a bit bemused when introduced to her little sister. I think she likes the baby, but isn't sure what all the fuss and attention is all about. Poor child doesn't know how much her world is getting ready to change!!

  1. Aw, poor Lorie... I truly enjoyed giving birth both times I got to do it with an epidural. But then again, I never labor for long! How special that you got to be there! I've never gotten to sit on on a delivery other than my own. What a neat experience.
